We are currently recruiting for an Autism Community Engagement Manager.
This role is essential for the Autism Centre of Excellence to achieve our mission to be the most collaborative autism charity in the UK. We are committed to working meaningfully with autistic people at every stage, from research to campaigning. Co-designing and co-creating to deliver meaningful change for autistic people.
The role is to co-ordinate and grow meaningful involvement of the autism community (which includes autistic adults, parents, and carers of autistic people) in all work conducted by the charity; ensuring it is diverse, influential, and has authority.
It’s essential that the role holder is aware of their own views and potential biases and able to support others to express their views, even when they are different to their own.
The role involves managing relationships with multiple stakeholders, including autistic people and their supporters, staff and volunteers, researchers, fellow charities, ambassadors and other collaborators. It requires the ability to work relatively autonomously and take initiative.
The successful candidate will be motivated to improve life for autistic people – joining a team that is passionate about delivering impact. They will be a strong advocate for ensuring that all opinions are heard and respected and will have the ability to communicate with people of all backgrounds and with different communication styles and support needs.
